Development of investment and technical documentation: Design project of District heating of Sarajevo from TPP Kakanj

Since cogeneration of electricity and heat energy is recognized as a way to increase energy efficiency and reduce CO₂ emissions, this project provides the possibility of expanding the heating of other cities near the Kakanj Thermal Power Plant. The general goals of this project are enabling affordable district heating in Visoko, Breza, Ilijaš, Vogošća and Sarajevo as main consumer of thermal energy. By this way we are reducing environmental pollution, increasing total production, energy efficiency and financial effectiveness of TPP Kakanj through cogeneration and reducing BiH’s energy dependence on imported energy. Within the framework of the project, the following services were provided: design of all phases (mechanical-technological, civil and architectural, electrical and automation), waste management plan, investment program, study of land ownership and preparatory geotechnical study (Mission G1).
